The Feasibility Study has been granted an extension by the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) through December 31, 2009. Activity has resumed in earnest as of the beginning of 2009. The library consultant has completed work on a building and business plan. The final draft of these plans will be available on this website shortly. Currently, the architects, RMJM/Hillier, are developing a feasibility plan focusing on the viability of a joint library on the site of the current Scotch Plains Library. This work is scheduled to be completed in the spring at which point details will be shared on this site. The Boards of Trustees and the Directors of both libraries continue to remain committed to the value and spirit of this innovative idea which would seem to hold great promise for both communities and all of those who reside in them. |
